Discover the stories, landmarks, and icons of Vancouver’s LGBTQ2+ community on the Really Gay History Tour Vancouver. You’ll visit the sites of bookstore bombings, police raids, Imperial Court coronations, the “Kiss-Ins” of Granville Street, and the gayest beer parlor in town. It’s 2.5 hours packed with unbelievable Vancouver history on a stroll from downtown to the historic gay village of Davie Street.

Meet your guide – the man in pink! – outside Vancouver City Centre Skytrain Station on West Georgia Street. You’ll soon embark on a 2.5-hour long adventure into the LGBTQ2+ history and culture of this West Coast metropolis. First stop is the majestic Hotel Vancouver, once legendary for secret gay meetups. Across the street lies the Vancouver Art Gallery and former courthouse, where you’ll learn the strange tale of Rex vs. Singh – a case no jury could agree on.

You’ll continue on to Robson Square, a public space often packed with live performers and food trucks, before you make your way into the heart of Vancouver’s entertainment scene on Granville Street, where you’ll discover Vancouver’s very earliest gay bars. You’ll weave a path through Imperial Court coronations, drag kings at the Quadra, gay ministers at the United Church, Patient Zero, the GRID crisis, and visit urban oasis, Nelson Park, until you find yourself in the gaybourhood on Davie Street.
