Upstate Pride SC is a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit organization, formed in 2008 to support the LGBTQI community in the Upstate of South Carolina. Members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg, along with other members in the community, organized the first march for equality in 2009.
Since then, Upstate Pride SC has been working steadily to promote equality. In addition to planning the annual march each year, UPSC organizes events that unite the LGBTQI community and educate the Upstate.

Upstate Black Pride Week is an opportunity for marginalized people to drive an event for the entire community. These all-inclusive events are an opportunity for fellowship and celebration.
