    Detailed Itinerary

     

    Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe National Park

     

    Tranafer from Kigali to Butare and then Nyungwe forest: En route visit the Rwanda King’s Palace Museum-rukari in Huye town.

    Meal plan: Lunch & Dinner

     

    Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe

     

    Have a morning breakfast then head out on a trek to find chimpanzees in Nyungwe National Park. You will be entitled to a 1-hour stay on finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, you will go to your lodge for lunch.

    Day 3: Canopy walk in Nyungwe forest – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

     

    Canopy Walk (Nyungwe National Park), later exit Nyungwe with a stopover at Lake Kivu and transfer to Volcanoes national park.

    Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

     

    After breakfast, report to the park headquarters for your first experience of endangered species in the Volcanoes National Park. The golden monkey trek is normally an easy trek that takes 1-2 hours. Later, visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

    Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

     

    After early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch early enough to be briefed about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. Then, enter the forest in search of the gorillas, which may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of 1 hour.

    Day 6: Transfer from Volcanoes National Park to Akagera National Park

     

    After breakfast, you will transfer from Volcanoes National Park to Akagera National Park through Kigali. On arrival at the park, we shall proceed to our accommodation.
    We order lunch and later take a boat trip on Lake Ihema to watch Hippos and crocodiles in the water or by the shores.

    Day 7: Full Day Game Drives in AKagera National Park

     

    Enjoy early morning breakfast and start your game drives in an open-roofed vehicle. A full day game drive here offers you an opportunity to spot a variety of game including elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard, and bushbuck, etc. Proceed for an evening game drive after lunch. Return to your lodge for dinner.

    Day 8: Transfer from Akagera National Park to Kigali

     

    Have breakfast and then enjoy a morning game drive, we shall return to Kigali and you will check in at the lodge or be dropped at the airport for your departure flight.
