About The Savvy Ally: A Guide for Becoming a Skilled LGBTQ+ Advocate The Savvy Ally, published by Rowman & Littlefield in March of 2020, is a guidebook on how to be an ally to the LGBTQ+ communities. Written in a clear, accessible and engaging style, with real-life examples, fun facts, and humorous pop quizzes, The Savvy Ally helps people understand LGBTQ+ identities, navigate respectful conversations, and gain the confidence and tools they need to work toward creating more LGBTQ+ inclusive spaces. Chosen as Teaching Tolerance magazine’s staff pick in the category of professional development for their spring 2021 magazine, The Savvy Ally is vital for teachers, counselors, social workers, healthcare providers, and college professors, as well as parents who want to be supportive of their LGBTQ+ child but don’t know how. This entertaining and encouraging guide will surely jump-start even the most tentative ally.
