Event Navigation

Are you an adult seeking to create safer and more inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent youth? Empower yourself with foundational knowledge and practical skills to affirm and show up for the young people in your life at this unique intersection.

Key sections:

• Define LGBTQ+: Review the meaning and nuances of LGBTQ+ identities, including the distinctions between gender and sexuality.

• Define Neurodivergent: Explore the neurodivergent umbrella, including co-occurring identities and access needs. We will primarily focus on ADHD and Autism.

• Self-Identity Is Valid: Embrace the importance of self-identity for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent individuals.

• Understanding Executive Function: Recognize the impact of executive function on individuals, including challenges related to sensory processing, interoception, and proprioception.

• Support Through Challenging Times: Discover effective strategies for supporting neuroqueer youth in various settings, from home to school and beyond.

• Inclusive Environments: Recommendations for creating inclusive spaces, safety plans, and building authentic relationships with neuroqueer youth.

Attendees will leave with actionable takeaways and a commitment to positively impacting the lives of these young individuals. After the session, further resources will be provided to support your ongoing learning journey should you opt in.
